A 67-year-old woman died after she was hit by a car while crossing the national highway in Barangay San Miguel, Roxas, Palawan, around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14.
Police identified the victim only as "Mercy," a resident of the area. The driver was identified as "Jet," a 41-year-old from Barangay Barotuan, El Nido.
Based on the initial police report, the car was traveling from El Nido toward Puerto Princesa City when the victim crossed the road suddenly.
The impact threw her about 20 meters away, causing severe injuries that led to her death.
The passengers inside the vehicle were unharmed.
