A total of 4.5 tons of campaign materials was removed by the General Services Office (GSO) of the Iloilo City Government through “Oplan Baklas” in all districts of the city.
According to Engr. Neil Ravena, GSO head, 95 percent of thoroughfares, except private places, were already cleaned up.
The campaign materials are up for recycling, Ravena said.
The tarpaulins are placed in a temporary containment area for sorting.
Earlier, Ravena said that the tarpaulins can be recycled into bags.
Ravena also said that about 900 kilograms of campaign posters were removed on the first day of the cleanup, and 1,140 kilograms on the second day.
