The Land Transportation Office (LTO) 6 is set to issue a show cause order against the motorcycle rider accused by his 19-year-old passenger of attempted rape. 

In an interview with GMA Super Radyo Iloilo, LTO 6 Director Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan said that their Legal Department has worked on the pertinent documents for the issuance of a show cause order.

Geduspan said that if the rider has a driver’s license, it is possible it might be revoked.

If he holds a student’s permit only, it is most likely that the LTO will ban him from applying for a driver’s license. 

Geduspan reiterated that a motorcycle-for-hire is considered “colorum,” and is therefore illegal because of the absence of a transport franchise.

Therefore, if these type of riders commit crimes against commuters, the agency will go after them to revoke their license, or prohibit them from securing one.

The alleged rape attempt happened in Barangay Pulo Maestra Vita, Oton town in the Province of Iloilo evening on May 18, 2025.
