A 20-year-old woman detained for online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC) complaints in Misamis Occidental is facing additional charges, including qualified human trafficking.
This after authorities served the warrants of arrest against the suspect at the lounge area of Branch 36 of the Regional Trial Court in Calamba, Misamis Occidental on May 21, 2025.
The suspect, a resident of Sapang Dalaga, Misamis Occidental, is currently detained at the Misamis Occidental Provincial Jail.
She is now facing additional charges for qualified human trafficking with no bail recommended.
The suspect was first arrested in February 2025 after she allegedly exploited her 16-year-old sister-in-law by recording explicit videos and distributing them to foreign individuals online.
“Our commitment to pursuing justice remains steadfast, especially when it comes to the welfare of children. The formal service of these warrants strengthens our resolve to ensure that offenders are fully held accountable under the law,” Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Director, Brigadier General Jaysen De Guzman, said.
