A 67-year-old woman was injured after a man snatched her handbag in broad daylight in Barangay San Agustin, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Closed circuit television (CCTV) footage from Sitio Pigulut showed the suspect trailing the victim around noon.
Moments later, the man grabbed her bag, pulling her to the ground until she was dragged along by the man. He then kicked her and fled with her belongings.
“Sabi po niya [ng biktima], may pinuntahan lang daw po siyang kaibigan sa Sitio Pigulut at pauwi na po sana siya. ‘Yun na po, may sumusunod na sa kanyang tao at hinablot na po ‘yung gamit niya,” PMaj. Don Kenneth Asuncion, Sub-Station 2 Commander of the City of San Fernando Police Station, said.
The victim, identified as Nenita Lopez, lost jewelry and about P3,000 in cash. Nearby residents tried to chase the suspect, but he managed to escape.
Police identified the suspect later as Rnald Cabilbil, Jr., alias "Rambo," allegedly a known snatcher linked to several break-ins in the city.
The police are now hunting him down.
