An eight-year-old girl who had been reported missing for several days in Iligan City was found dead on Monday, June 9, 2025.

The girl’s body was found at a grassy area in Purok 13, Timoga, Barangay Buru-un around 3 p.m. after a four-day search.

Her body was found lying on a rock and already in an advanced state of decomposition.

Police said the girl, who was a resident in the area, was reported missing on June 5, 2025.

The girl was seen last near her home giving respect to her godfather and joining another child to swim in a stream nearby.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine if there was foul play, especially since the girl’s underwear was reportedly pulled down.

The result of the autopsy on the child’s body has not been released, as of this writing.
