Residents of Bogo City and other areas in northern Cebu were awakened by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake a little past 1 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025.
The quake was recorded initially at magnitude 6.0.
PHIVOLCS said "This is an aftershock of the 2025 September 30 Mw6.9 Offshore Northern Cebu earthquake."
According to PHIVOLCS, the quake had a depth of 005 kilometers with the reported Intensities:

The quake hit just 12 days after a magnitude 6.9 quake on September 30 devasted northern Cebu. At least 72 died in that quake that affected a total of 611,624 people or 165,988 families, and damaged a total of 39,806 houses in Central Visayas.
As of October 10, 2025, at least 79 families or 392 individuals dwell in the tent city in Barangay Cogon in Bogo.
PHIVOLCS has urged the relocation of 44 households along the newly-named Bogo Bay Fault.
According to Bogo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Rex Leoben Ygot, the fault system identified by PHIVOLCS is found in three barangays - Libertad, Nailon (na-ee-lon), and Dakit.
