The reported fatalities due to the impact of Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi) has increased to 66, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) on Wednesday.
In a phone interview with reporters, OCD officer-in-charge Assistant Secretary Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro IV said that most of the deaths were reported in Central Visayas with 50.
“Region 6, isa. Negros Island Region, seven. Tapos 50, sa Region 7. Tapos dalawa sa Region 8. So that's 60. Tapos you add the six crew ng helicopter, that's 66,” Bernardo said.

OCD deputy spokesperson Diego Mariano told reporters in a message that the 49 deaths in Cebu Province were due to fallen debris, landslides, and flooding, with some causes still under investigation.
One death was reported each in Bohol, Capiz, and Leyte, which were all caused by fallen trees.
Another death in Leyte was due to flooding.
In the Negros Island Region, one person died from falling debris and another from drowning, while the causes of five others are still being determined, according to Mariano.
Six deaths in Agusan del Sur were due to a helicopter crash.
A total of 26 people were also reported missing including 13 each in Negros Occidental and Cebu Province.
At least 10 people were reported injured, according to Bernardo.
A total of 707,000 people or 204,000 families were affected by Tino.
Of the total affected population, 102,000 families were staying in evacuation centers.
