A 16-year-old student was arrested after allegedly sending online threats to another minor attending the same school in Lubao, Pampanga.

Police said the school administrator reported the alleged threat to the Lubao Municipal Police Station, which immediately launched an investigation and implemented security measures.

"The school administrator ng senior high school dito po sa Lubao ay nag-report po dito sa Lubao MPS, conveying na mayroon nga pong alleged online threat that was conveyed through an online platform. We also implemented necessary measures to ensure the safety and security ng school community," Lubao Police Chief Lt. Col. Dederick Relativo said.

Initial investigation found that the victim allegedly received a series of online messages containing threats of violence and death.

According to Relativo, the messages included: "Joke lang na papatay ako," "75 percent death rate," and "May plano ako to wipe out bago mahuli."

"Ang mga threat kasi, kino-consider ng PNP whether it is made online or personally. At this stage, the matter remains under investigation para ma-determine iyong context at content," he said.

Police said screenshots of the alleged Messenger conversation were submitted as evidence for documentation and further examination.

GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon sought comment from the school administration and the parents of the students involved but had yet to receive a response, as of posting.

Authorities said the case has been referred to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWD) for assessment and intervention since both the complainant and the suspect are minors.

Following the incident, the Lubao Police Station, together with school officials, conducted a security assessment to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and other members of the school community.

Police also launched the One Lubao Safety Network, an initiative aimed at promoting awareness, discipline, and shared responsibility among young people through continuing information and education campaigns to help prevent similar incidents.
