NCAA Season 97 women’s volleyball Most Valuable Player Mycah Go is set to make her much awaited return to the court after being sidelined by a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and other injuries in Season 98.

The Cebuana open hitter from Bogo City has been pivotal in leading the CSB Lady Blazers in their championship run in Season 97.

Less than a month before Season 98 kicked off in 2023, Go suffered from the injury during a tune-up game.

Aside from an ACL tear, the former Lady Blazers team captain also had a meniscal tear, minor MCL, and LCL strain.

Go told GMA Regional TV News she had to keep her mental toughness while undergoing rehab procedures.

“Yung mental health in a way na iniisip ko kung hanggang kailan ba magiging okay, syempre hindi ko pa naman alam sa mga time na yon if kailan ako talagang maging fully okay, wala po talaga akong basis kung kailan ako makakabalik,” she said.

Go said consistency was key to get back to tip-top shape.

“Tinry ko pong maging consistent as much as possible kasi yun lang naman po yung magiging puhunan ko para mag-recover, maging consistent sa mga rehabs,” she said.

Even though the Lady Blazers were able to defend their title last season, new team captain Jessa Dorog acknowledged the void left by Go.

“Malaking loss sa amin last season kasi wala siya and now andito na siya so abangan niyo na lang ang pagbabalik niya,” Dorog said.

Despite her dominant performance during her MVP season, Go said she will take it one game at a time in her return.

“Step by step pa rin kasi lahat naman sa team namin, wala naman silang ini-expect sa akin kasi syempre galing nga sa injury and kakabalik lang… balik lang din sa basics and tiwala sa sarili.”
