Over 900 delegates will represent Western Visayas in the Palarong Pambansa 2025 in Ilocos Norte.
According to Hernani Escullar Jr., spokesperson of the Department of Education 6, a total of 965 delegates will represent Western Visayas.
A total of 605 athletes, 87 coaches, 24 assistant coaches, 40 chaperons, and 209 members of the technical working group comprise the delegation.
Escullar underscored that the delegation in 2025 is unique because of two regional directors who will manage the delegation - Director Ramir Uytico and Director Cristito Eco.
It was learned that delegates from Bacolod City and the Province of Negros Occidental will still join Western Visayas despite the creation of Negros Island Region (NIR).
Escullar is optimistic that because of the shared leadership of the two regional directors, considering that Eco is from the National Capital Region (NCR), "Western Visayas has the chance to outplay powerhouse NCR."
“Mangin unique ang participation sang Western Visayas bangud duha ang regional director nga maga-share sang ila leadership sa Palarong Pambansa. Memorable ini kay katapusan nga pag-updanay sang mga atleta kag coaches halin sa Negros Occidental,” Escullar said.
Registration and orientation of technical officials is set on May 20, 2025. The solidarity meeting is on May 23, 2025, while the opening program will take place on May 24, 2025.
The delegates will travel to Ilocos Norte on May 17, 2025.
