The EAC Generals nab their first win in #NCAA101 with a 68-65 down-the-wire victory against the JRU Heavy Bombers on Tuesday.

Wilmar Oftana commanded the charge for EAC, scattering 13 points and three boards in his BPG performance, while also getting sizable help in Oman Omandac and Nico Quinal’s 10 points apiece.

The game went down to the wire with both teams exchanging blows and changing leads until the game’s final stretch.

Tied at 65 with a minute and a half left in the fourth, team captain Quinal drained a huge three that created the 68-65 separation.

The hard-fought win needed the Generals to make crucial stops in the endgame, averting disaster by shutting down multiple game-tying attempts from JRU.

The Heavy Bombers were led by Shawn Argente’s 27 points to lead all scorers, laced with four rebounds and four made triples.

Ace rookie Sean Salvador struggled from the field but still managed to drop 11 points on a 3-of-12 shooting clip, while Justin Lozano poured in 10 points, four boards, and three steals in a losing effort.

The EAC Generals now tie the JRU Heavy Bombers in the Group B standings, both with a 1-1 tally.
