Up to 1,541 police personnel are set to be deployed across General Santos City to secure the upcoming Batang Pinoy Games on October 25 to 31, 2025.

Authorities said additional support will also come from the Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, and barangay police.

“The areas of deployment will be in the billeting areas, in the playing venues, in the activities related to Batang Pinoy sporting events,” Police Regional Office-SOCCSKSARGEN Regional Operations Division Chief, Col. Amante Suriaga, said.

The deployment will also provide security for those staying in private accommodations outside hotels and billeting schools.

“Dili nato pasagdan ang balay nga gipuy an bisan dili part sa schools nga gihimo nilang billeting,” General Santos City Police Office Director, Col. Nicomedes Olaivar Jr., said.

“We see to it that everything is in place. We conducted meetings every week to assure na lahat ng kailangan is ready for the implementation of this big event. So we made committees in every aspect of this event para sila na yung mag manage ng mga concerns with regards sa implementation itong event na ito,” City Mayor’s Executive Assistant, Vendham Dave Homo, added.

Meanwhile, the local government has also prepared additional logistics, including free transportation for athletes and medical response teams.

“Meron po tayong libreng sakay, there will be around 43 modern jeepney that will be plying 3 loops, at mag iikot lang para maka-provide ng masasakyan para sa ating mga delegado at hindi po sila mahihirapan dito sa stay sa General Santos,” Public Safety Office Head, Atty. Jose Mariano Constantino Gonzales, said.

“As of the present we have formed 33 teams composed of doctors, nurses, midwives…almost 200 of our healthcare workers will be deployed…Also we will be utilizing our barangay health workers as augmentation,” Assistant City Health Officer, Dr. Karl Igrobay, added.

More than 25,000 beddings arrived on Thursday, October 16, and are set to be deployed to 30 billeting schools across the city to accommodate more than 21,000 young athletes from various parts of the country participating in the national sporting event.
