GMA Synergy-produced ‘Limitless: A Musical Trilogy,’ headlined by Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose, earned recognitions at the 17th UP BroadSoc Gandingan Awards held last May 13 at the University of the Philippines, Los Baños.

 

Limitless: Breathe,” the first leg of ‘Limitless: A Musical Trilogy,’ won as the Most Development-Oriented Musical Segment/Program. Meanwhile, Julie’s rendition of “Tayong Dalawa” for the musical trilogy also received a Special Citation for the Most Development-Oriented TV Plug category.

Forever grateful for my Limitless and MCAI family,” she said, referring to her awards for Limitless and the hit TV series, Maria Clara at Ibarra, which was recognized as the Most Development-Oriented Educational Program with Special Citation in the Most Development-Oriented Drama Program category.

 

‘Limitless: A Musical Trilogy’ took Julie Anne to Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to learn more about their culture and values while also collaborating with Kapuso stars and local artists for musical performances. It showcased her limitless talents and different facets as a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and multi-instrumentalist.

 

Dubbed “Breathe,” the first leg saw the Kapuso singer exploring the hidden gems of Mindanao, meeting with the locals, and in the process, sharing her own experience as well as her discoveries about herself. It premiered last September 17, 2021, where Julie was joined by Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista and The Clash alumnus Jong Madaliday.

 

The musical trilogy’s second part dubbed “Heal,” which premiered last November 20, 2021, allowed Julie to explore the beautiful island of Siquijor in Visayas with Total Heartthrob and Performer Ravyer Cruz and The Clash Season 3 Grand Champion Jessica Villarubin.

 

Meanwhile, the third part dubbed “Rise” took her back to Luzon with Rayver, with its worldwide online premiere last April 9, 2022.

 

Creatively directed by Paolo Valenciano with Myke Salomon as the musical director, “Limitless: A Musical Trilogy” was a recipient of the Silver Medal at the 2022 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards for the Entertainment Special: Variety Special category.
