Apparently, there is no need for a divorce because according to the latest reports of Yilmaz Bektas’ lawyer, Ruffa is still married to another, making their marriage a farce. This is the breaking news on Startalk last Saturday. To these allegations, Ruffa Gutierrez answered with this statement. “Thank God. ‘Di legal ang kasal namin. I have been trying to be quiet these past few months. These past few years that I have been tortured by him because I’m trying to protect him. I’m trying to protect my kids. But now he has already crossed the line. And the real reason I left him, all the time he hit me. He abuses me. He tortures me.” Ruffa added that the last time she left Istanbul, Turkey, she was tortured by her husband for 15 hours. When prompted for details, she explained that Yilmaz did everything that can be considered abusive including hitting her, cutting her hair, locking her up in a closet, and threatening her family. When asked if there was a reason why Yilmaz treated her in such a way. Ruffa could not hold back her tears anymore. “Wala, sira ulo lang siya. I’m sorry for me to say this but it’s too much. Everyday, he’s like threatening me, threatening my mom, my dad. Too much. Kung may mangyari sa akin, kung mamatay man ako, iisa lang may gawa niyan, si Yilmaz lang.” When pressed about her alleged previous marriage, she stated, “When you’re young you make mistakes but as you grow older, you learn from these mistakes and you move on. When I married Yilmaz in 2003, I changed. I became a good wife. I became a good mother. And, I think now, what he’s trying to do to me, trying to ruin my reputation, because he doesn’t want me to be successful.” She added that she never hid anything from her husband even when they were yet to be married. Regarding her children, Ruffa was adamant. “The kids are gonna be with me because I took care of them. I’m supporting them. When I gave birth to Venice, he wasn’t even there. And, I’m the mom. He hasn’t sent me one single penny since February. I don’t need his money. I don’t need anything from him because I can support my kids. Thank God, my mom is there.
