Loved by many since its first release, Pati ba Pintig ng Puso? tells the story of individuals from two very different worlds. Amidst the disapproval of the people around them, they fought for their love. Much like a fairy tale, it taps into the heartstrings of every viewer, getting them hooked on Aldrin and Jenna’s romantic and painful journey together.
The week before
Fresh from their real and legal wedding, Aldrin ( JC de Vera ) and Jenna ( Yasmien Kurdi ) escaped from the Griego mansion and spent their honeymoon in Hong Kong. With them were Aldrin’s sister Mabelle ( Chynna Ortaleza ) and her boyfriend Bien ( Marco Alcaraz ) Despite Aldrin and Jenna’s constant squabbles, they both started to show affection for each other – which led them to unexpectedly share an intimate night.
Things take interesting turns for the couple as they confide their love for one another to Mabelle. Ever-willing to lend a helping hand to her brother and best friend, Mabelle devises a way to bring Aldrin and Jenna closer and make it easier for them to adjust to each other’s lifestyles.
All good things come to an end though, as Aldrin and Jenna return to the mansion. Many surprising changes welcome them and the question whether the newlyweds will now be able to cope with their reality looms.
Between Aldrin and Jenna
JC and Yasmien take on the challenging and demanding roles of Aldrin and Jenna, formerly portrayed by Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta on the big screen.
How are they dealing with people’s expectations?
“I know there will always be a comparison, pero Sharon Cuneta is (the) Mega Star na eh. I’ll act it my way, (at) kumukuha ako ng help from our director (Gil Tejada para mabigay) kung ano pong mas babagay doon sa role,” Yasmien explains.
For his part, JC notes, “(We’re) pressured and nervous, kasi takot kaming i-compare doon sa original na gumanap.” Yet he quickly rebounds, “(pero) naniniwala naman ako na hindi siya ma-co-compare kasi very different nga ‘yung attack dito.”
Making the JC–Yasmien tandem more interesting is the birth of a new love team to watch out for in the Kapuso network.
“Wow!” both exclaimed when asked how it feels to be paired with one another. “Masaya (ako). Swerte ako kay Yas,” JC adds, looking thrilled.
“Makulit (si JC),” Yasmien shares, giggling. His kindness and approachability makes his company enjoyable, she says.
