Meryll Soriano surprised everyone when she revealed on New Year's Day that she has given birth to another boy. What's even more surprising is that it's her baby with her ex-boyfriend Joem Bascon.
In January 2020, the two were reportedly back together after working in a TV series and movie Culion in 2019.
However, Meryll and Joem kept mum about their rekindled romance and this was to, apparently, focus on their pregnancy.
The actress conceived her second child at the age of 38. Studies show that pregnancy after the age of 35 brings a higher risk of complications.
According to Meryll, she had anxiety over her last semester. She also acquired gestational diabetes onto the sixth to seventh month of her pregnancy, which means she had to take glucose tests and insulin shots four times a day.
To further keep herself and her baby healthy, she avoided sweets to lower her blood sugar level, worked out, did yoga, and maintained a healthy diet.
Thankfully, Meryll was able to have a safe and normal delivery. Joem also helped her stay on track.
"He stopped buying Cloud 9 and HawHaw. He did pregnant workouts with me. And, there are no words to explain the taking-care-of-me part. He's the best," Meryll said.
Pregnant at the time of COVID-19 pandemic is risky but Meryll has just shown that nothing is hard and impossible when you are disciplined and have the right mindset and healthy habits.

On New Year's Day 2020, Meryll Soriano revealed that she is now a mother of two. She welcomed her first child, Elijah, with whom she shared with her ex-husband Bernard Palanca, in August 2007.
Meryll posted this heartwarming photo of her and Joem who is leaning on her shoulder and holding her tummy to express how caring the actor is when she was pregnant with their baby. In the caption, Meryll said, "Thank you for taking care of me -- now US. Your love is unparalleled."

Meryll and Joem went on a little babymoon or a vacation before they welcomed their child.
Meryll revealed that she did not expect to go into labor the day after this photo was taken. She even had a prior appointment with her dermatologist!
After a decade, Joem and Meryll got back in each other's arms and look happier than ever, especially with their new bundle of joy.
