Andi Eigenmann with kids Ellie and Lilo

Andi Eigenmann gave a glimpse of her parenting style over on Instagram.

For parents, it's a little difficult sometimes to not indulge your kids with toys you know they would love. Not Andi Eigenmann, though.

In a recent Instagram post, Andi shared with her followers how she is raising Ellie and Lilo with minimal toys.

She started her post with Lilo not taking naps when they came to Manila and thinks that is due to overstimulation from the toys she brought along their trip.

"We decided to bring out a couple of Ellie's old wooden toys for her to play with. Something she is not at all used to because, on the island, Lilo has been used to playing with whatever nature supplies us with - an old buko or a bunch of twigs!"

Andi continued, "LOL being on quarantine and unable to go out shopping, it made it clearer how even less our children really need to be happy."

Andi said that she doesn't believe in getting so many toys for her kids. She also discussed how her eldest daughter, Ellie, decided to donate her toys and follow her mom's minimal lifestyle.

Back on the island it was so much easier to get Lilo to chill out. Now, this girl just won't take naps anymore! I dont know if its due to over- stimulation, because we decided to bring out a couple of Ellie's old wooden toys for her to play with. I dont believe in showering my kids with so many toys (specially at this age). Although I wasn't always this type of parent. But when I switched to a more minimal life, Ellie also decided to donate her toys to those in need. And I just love what kind of person it has helped her become. It made me realise how it teaches them to value the things that they own, and take good care of it. Also, it definitely lessens our carbon footprint.
