One of the men suspected of robbing bank personnel in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon was arrested during a police raid for illegal possession of firearms in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

Armed with a search warrant, operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Bukidnon raided the suspect’s house in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Tagoloan around 7 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026.

According to authorities, the suspect was reportedly feared in the community because he would allegedly display his firearm openly.

"Upon verification kung legal ba na nagpo-possess ng baril itong si Mantobihon, negative doon sa verification. Kasi ang sabi na lagi itong may dalang baril… hindi lang baril, may explosives pa,” CIDG-10 Assistant Regional Chief, Lt. Col. Sandro Santillan, said.

Authorities recovered from the suspect two firearms of different calibers, a hand grenade, and several sachets of suspected shabu.

CIDG said the suspect identified as alias “Delfin” was among the persons of interest in a robbery on June 17, 2026 where the suspects allegedly carted away around P1.6 million in cash.

Shortly after the robbery, police recovered a pickup truck believed to have been used by the suspects as getaway vehicle.

“Nauna lang ito si Alyas ‘Deflin’ kasi siya mismo yung una nating na-identify. Upon the conduct of the background check, na-trace natin yung residence niya sa Tagoloan kasi doon din natin na-trace itong Ford Ranger the day before and after nung robbery na yun,” Santillan added.

The suspect will face charges for alleged violation of illegal possession of firearms (RA 10591), illegal possession of explosives (RA 9516) and illegal possession of dangerous drugs (RA 9165).
