Barbie Forteza wins Best Actress award for indie film 'Laut' at an International Film Festival

Director Louie Ignacio broke the news to Barbie Forteza that she won the Best Actress award at the 36th Fantasporto International Film Festival at Oporto, Portugal for their indie film ‘Laut’ that premiered in Singkuwento International Film Festival last February 19. Since Barbie could not attend to the ceremony in Portugal, Louie Ignacio was there to claim the actress’ well-deserved award.
 

Direk Louie and the ‘That’s My Amboy’ star had a quick exchange of praise in the comments section of the Instagram post. While Barbie still couldn’t believe her win, Director Louie knew from the start that Barbie can bag an international award.

Barbie gave thanks through her Twitter saying “Muito obrigado” or thank you very much in Portuguese.



The film ‘Laut’ also bagged a Special Mention of the Jury award and lead actress Barbie, couldn’t thank the whole team enough for the trust.

“Congrats Team Laut and @barbaraforteza wagi tayo !!! Special Mention of the Jury prize and Best actress for @barbaraforteza !!!! Mabuhay ang Indie !!!!' Mabuhay ang Pilipinas” Louie says on his post.

Barbie replies with “Congratulations, Direk!!!!!!! Maraming salamat po sa tiwala! @lagdameolouie”

Congratulations to Barbie and to the whole team of Laut!
