Ken Chan aims to make Kuya Germs proud as he renews GMA Network contract

By MARY LOUISE LIGUNAS

Former tween actor, Walang Tulugan co-host and Destiny Rose star Ken Chan signed another two-year contract with GMA. The twenty-three-year-old talent is thankful for the continuous opportunity to hone his craft in the network he considers home.

“Pag nag-loo-look back ako sa mga nangyari sa ‘kin [from my days in] Tween Hearts, [I’m amazed dahil] parang kalahati yata ng buhay ko, nandito sa GMA. 'Yung buhay ko, talagang dito na tumakbo… at sobrang suwerte ko na dahil sa Destiny Rose kung bakit nagtutuloy-tuloy 'yung mga blessings ko ngayon,” he said.

He also noted how work becomes so much easier and more fun in the presence of people whom he feels fosters a genuine concern for him.

'Yun 'yung isa sa mga masasarap [na bagay about being a] Kapuso. Home siya [para sa ‘kin],” he added.

As he enters another chapter of his career, one of his major objectives is to make the late German Moreno proud.

Lahat, pantay-pantay [at] dapat lahat pakisamahan.

He hopes that in his own way, he’s able to continue the showbiz icon’s legacy by applying what he has learned from him.

“I think proud na siya sa ‘kin [dahil] ipinagpapatuloy ko 'yung mga aral [na binilin niya] at 'yung pagmamahal ko dito sa industriya,” he concluded.

Ken signed his contract alongside GMA Network Senior Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable and Artist Center AVP for Imaging and Branding Simon Ferrer.
