Finally, GMA’s premiere actress Lovi Poe opened up to the press the reason why she and ex-boyfriend Rocco Nacino had to end their two-year romantic relationship.

At the press conference of her renewal of contract with the Kapuso network last week (July 26), the dramatic actress was calm and collected when she answered questions regarding the matters of her heart, especially about her and her former beau.

EXCLUSIVE: Lovi Poe remains a Kapuso

She started, “Every time a relationship ends, nakakalungkot naman talaga. We had a very good relationship [since] it was filled with love and happiness.”

The former couple remained mum on why they broke up last year, but Lovi feels it’s the right time to speak up on the issue. She continued, “I guess it [was] time for us to grow separately—as individuals because I think we’re still too young to carry that kind of relationship that we had.”

Lovi was generous enough to give details on her relationship with her fellow Kapuso star, “We were very relaxed. We took care of each other [and] very supportive kami. It’s just that, we’re too young to lead to something more than that so siguro we had to make ourselves grow as a person first—I have to be more of a woman; he has to be more of a man. Madami pa kaming kailangan madiskubre sa sarili namin.”

Amid the turmoil between them, The Someone to Watch Over Me star said she is not closing her doors on the possibility of rekindling their relationship.

“If it happens in the future [that] we meet again, it’s [going to] happen. If [we don’t], then I guess it’s just not meant to be. Whatever happens in the future, we don’t know naman,” she concluded.
