The Philippine basketball community is still reeling from the shocking news after International Basketball Federation or FIBA handed an 18-month suspension to Gilas Pilipinas guard and PBA star Kiefer Ravena after he tested positive for "prohibited substances."
According to a report by GMA News Online, during the press conference of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, Kiefer did not test positive for "illegal drugs” and the superstar athlete clarified too that the “prohibited substance” came from an over-the-counter mixed drink he consumed before Gilas' game against Japan in February 2018.
Several athletes like his former collegiate rival Jeron Teng and TV host Gretchen Ho took to their social media accounts to express their support for the embattled PBA cager.
