Auditionees line up for the role of Big Bert Armstrong of 'Voltes V: Legacy'

GMA Network Annex building was jampacked with hopefuls who want to bag the role of the character Robert or Big Bert Armstrong in the upcoming live-action series Voltes V: Legacy.

At 11 a.m. yesterday, February 24, GMA Network opened its doors to auditionees.

Photos from the audition room were shared online via Voltes V Documentary on Twitter.

The announcement was made Thursday last week by Voltes V: Legacy director Mark Reyes via Instagram and was followed by an official announcement on-air and social media.

According to the news, the aspiring auditionee must be male, 18 to 20 years old, at least 5'8” in height and is equipped with skills in martial arts.

The character, Big Bert, is the third member of the team and is the second eldest member among the Armstrong brothers. And according to his profile, he pilots the Volt Panzer (chest) and is an expert in martial arts.

Steve Armstrong and continuous support from fans

GMA announced that a Kapuso actor has already bagged the role of main protagonist Steve Armstrong.

The news was confirmed by the network via 24 Oras. No name has been disclosed yet.

Since its announcement last December 2019, fans have showed continued support for the upcoming live-action series.

The teaser was met positively as netizens sang praises for the excellent quality of the CGI or computer-generated imagery.

The animation for Voltes V: Legacy will be produced by GMA in partnership with local post-production company RIOT Inc. which will handle its visual effects, CGI, motion graphics, color grading, video offline, and online editing.
