Michelle Madrigal

Michelle Madrigal shares her experience and insights after standing in a peaceful protest with and for the black community.

Michelle Madrigal joined a peaceful protest for the 'Black Lives Matter' movement that happened in Texas, USA.

Michelle joined the rally for three main reasons: She believes that being silent promotes stagnation, her husband Troy Wolfoolk and their daughter Anika are black, and she chooses to stand with the black community.

The former actress wrote, “Today is one of the most eye-opening and humbling experience(s) I've ever had in my life. I don't remember growing up fighting for my life because of my skin color. Our future kids deserve better than this!

“Yes! 'All lives matter' but if you don't fully understand what the movement is all about, then please take time to educate or better yet, ask instead of judging. Learn their history and have empathy on what it truly means about saving black lives. #ChangeIsComing. Now, I don't condone looting and violence!!! Today was beautiful. It was a peaceful protest. Support. Listen. Learn.”

Michelle also earlier expressed her fears for her family and the community they belong to due to racism.

She said, “It's a scary thing to think that my daughter could experience hate because of her race and skin color. I am fearful to know that every time my husband leaves our home he could get pulled over by a “bad cop” pin him down to the ground and get shot for being a black man.

“This. Needs. To. Stop. The world is raging.... Violence is never the solution... but their suffering needs to end!”
