OPM singer April Boy Regino's passing was reported by his brother, Vingo Regino, on a social media post.
OPM icon April Boy Regino has passed away this Sunday morning according to a Facebook post by his brother Vingo Regino.
"Nakakalungkot naman ang araw na ito...
"Wala na ang Kuya April Boy ko," wrote Vingo.
In 2009, April Boy was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He then announced that he was cancer-free last 2013.
However, in 2015, the singer was then diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy which caused him to lose sight on his left eye.
The OPM icon was best known for his sings "'Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin," "Paano Ang Puso Ko," and his novelty hit, "Ye Ye Vonnel."
