Entertainment columnist Ricky Lo passes away at 75

Entertainment editor and columnist Ricky Lo died on Tuesday, May 4 at the age of 75.

GMA News confirmed through Philippine Star that the veteran journalist has died.

Ricky was a columnist for the broadsheet's "Funfare" column and was regarded as a highly respected reporter.

He was also the host of GMA-7 shows Startalk from 2008 to 2015 and was also a host for comedy talk show CelebriTV.

His sister, Susan Lee, told PEP.ph their family is asking for respect during their time of grief.

Ricky was born on April 21, 1946 and graduated from University of the East with a degree in AB English.

He began his career as an editorial assistant for Variety magazine in 1969.

He was with the Philippine Star as an entertainment editor from July 1986 until May 2021.

His last social media post from three weeks ago has been flocked with messages of condolences from friends, fans, and people from showbiz.

Ruffa Gutierrez wrote, "We love you Tito Ricky! You were supposed to interview your inaanak, Lorin, next week. May you rest in eternal peace."

Actor David Licauco paid his respects and said, "Rest in peace, Tito Ricky."

Kapuso actress and singer Rita Daniela, actress Vina Morales, Chynna Ortaleza all gave messages of condolences as well.
