Ruru Madrid on challenges faced by 'Lolong' production: 'Worth it'

By Marah Ruiz

Kapuso Action-Drama Prince Ruru Madrid shared his thoughts on the challenging production faced by his upcoming action-adventure series Lolong.

Lolong began production in late 2019 and has faced several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aside from this, Ruru also suffered an injury on the set which halted production.

In the media conference for Lolong held on June 20, Ruru declared that he is proud of the work they did for the show despite all of the challenges they faced.

At ito na po 'yun, mapapanood na po natin sa July 4, 'Lolong,'" he proudly said as his co-stars cheered him on.

According to Ruru, the drive to give the audience a worthy show kept him and the rest of the cast going.

Thank you po," the aktor said.

Lolong tells the story of a young man named Lolong, played by Ruru, who has the unique ability to communicate with a giant crocodile named Dakila.

Joining Ruru in the cast is Shaira Diaz, Arra San Agustin, Christopher de Leon, Jean Garcia, Bembol Roco, Malou de Guzman, Rochelle Pangilinan, Paul Salas, Maui Taylor, Ian de Leon, Marco Alcaraz, DJ Durano, Mikoy Morales, Rafael Rosell, and of course, the 22-foot animatronic crocodile Dakila.

Catch the world premiere of Lolong on July 4, 8:00 p.m. on GMA Telebabad.
