Derek Ramsay at Andrea Torres, walang ilangan moment
Bagamat ilang beses nang gumanap ng sexy roles si Derek Ramsay, first time pa rin niyang itinuturing ang role niya sa bagong sexy drama ng GMA Network, ang The Better Woman.
“I've never done anything like this on TV,” pahayag ng Kapuso actor sa ginanap na press conference ng The Better Woman kamakailan.
Paliwanag pa niya, mas mahirap daw sa telebisyon dahil mas mahigpit ang panuntunan dito.
“It's so difficult kasi 'yung restrictions.
“So, how do you make it daring, how do you make it romantic, without making it look so sexual?
“With all the restrictions that we have for TV, nahirapan kami dun but we're able to do it.
“Yun ang main difference from all the other [sexy] projects I've done,” sabi ni Derek.
Samantala, hindi naman daw nagdalawang-isip si Derek nang sabihing si Andrea Torres ang magiging leading lady niya sa kanyang unang Kapuso series.
Pag-alala niya, “I was asked if I'm comfortable to work with Andrea, sabi ko, 'Sure.'
“Never naman akong namili ng leading lady.
“I've always wanted to work with somebody else that's new.
“Noong sinabi nilang si Andrea, sabi ko, 'No problem.'”
Matapos daw nito ay nagpakilala siya kay Andrea. Ginawa rin daw niya ito para mawala na ang ilangan sa kanila bago mag-shoot para sa “Basta't Ka-Summer Kita” video.
“I messaged her on Instagram before we shot, na I'm looking forward to working with her. Nagpakilala lang ako.
“Noong shoot, wala kaming workshop. So I was like, I have to do something to make her feel comfortable.
“I messaged her and said that I was looking forward to working with her.
“She messaged back na, 'Looking forward to working with you, too, soon.'
“Ever since that day, that [shoot], okay na kami.”
Ito rin daw ang dahilan kung bakit naging madali agad ang trabaho nila sa set ng The Better Woman kahit maiinit na mga eksena agad ang kanilang ginawa.
Aniya, “That's what's unique about this love team. Others always have a day or two of ilang.
“Like I said, yung [GMA summer video], parang sexy na agad, e. Wala kaming time to get to know each other.
“Usually kapag may ganitong project, maliliit na scenes muna bago pumunta sa mga ganitong scenes.
“Pero yung first time naming magkakilala, medyo sexy na, so we already had to build the chemistry at that time.”
Sa kanilang pagkakakilala, ano ang naging impression ni Derek kay Andrea?
Sagot ni Derek, “She really has strong features, so hindi mo alam kung galit ba siya sa akin o mataray.
“But she's the complete opposite. She's very friendly and she's very down to earth.
“And ang maganda kay Andrea, she loves her family so much.”
At ang pinakaimportante, aniya, “She's also a good actress and that makes [work] easier.”
