JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia — A Filipino nurse in Saudi Arabia was wounded after he was repeatedly stabbed by one of the hospital's patients last week.

The victim, Rolando Mina, said he was quietly performing his job when the suspect, an Arab, approached him and started stabbing him. He said the attack caught him by surprise.

The incident took place Thursday night last week at a hospital in Madinah city.

Doctors said Mina, who was stabbed four times on his left and right arms, is now out of danger.

Mina said he was told the suspect was angry over the supposed delay in his medication.

Philippine Consul General in Jeddah Edgar Badajos said the suspect was arrested immediately after the incident, which he described as an "isolated" case. —Ronaldo Concha/KBK, GMA News
