GMA News Online or https://www.gmanetwork.com/news (abbreviated as GNO, or also collectively labeled as “we,” “our,” or “us”) is owned and operated by GMA Network, Inc. and its subsidiaries. It serves as the official news website of GMA Network, Inc. and is under the gmanetwork.com portal.
The Users (collectively labeled as “you”) are the audiences who visit, read, watch, and engage with content published on GMA News Online.

GNO respects and protects the privacy of our data subjects (i.e. employees, customers, suppliers, advertisers, service providers, and other stakeholders) per Republic Act No. 10173, or the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, as well as per data privacy laws, or its equivalent, in international countries where are Users are located.
This Privacy Notice details our data-gathering strategy; namely the acquisition, usage, disclosure, retention, and disposal of Personal Information (PI) of Users.
We may collect PI from different User journey points within GNO. This encompasses PI that is provided to us voluntarily when you participate in or attend any of our events or promotions, respond to our surveys, create or modify your accounts on our website, applications, or other products, contact customer support, enter into any contract or otherwise communicate or interact with us. We may also use software tools and other forms of data collection technology that ask for PI or that can retrieve PI from publicly disclosed internet data, social media sites, and web applications.
We may collect personally identifiable information such as name, home address, contact information, and other details not publicly available. Personal information may also include your computer system such as your IP address, device type, and browser type. This may also include demographic information and consumption patterns such as age, gender, location, interests, time and day spent, mouse or trackpad activity, and referring and exiting website addresses.
GNO ensures the strictest confidentiality and compliance with all retrieved PI.
As part of our operations, GNO makes use of third-party services to provide data-driven, multimedia online news coverage in real-time. We make use of Google Analytics to track web traffic and user engagement data. You may refer to Google’s Privacy Policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
For video content, we third-party video platforms such as YouTube and Daily Motion.
For audio content, we use the third-party audio streaming platform Spotify. You may refer to Spotify’s Privacy Policy here: https://www.spotify.com/us/legal/privacy-policy/.
To ensure the sustainability of our operations, we may at times share aggregated web traffic and user engagement data with other third parties not enumerated above (i.e. business partners, website optimization providers, advertisers, and data analysts) to provide their services. These partners are bound to us by a non-disclosure agreement that prohibits them from using your PI for any purpose other than fulfilling their obligations to GNO. We ensure that only demographic information is shared and provided with the strictest confidentiality and compliance.
GNO also publishes website links from other websites, including those beyond the gmanetwork.com portal. Do note that we are not responsible for the PI collection practices of other websites, nor are we privy to their privacy policies. We encourage Users to be aware of these policies when they visit these websites.

Generally, GNO uses personal information to analyze trends, administer the website, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. We also use your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from us, our affiliates, and our partners.
GNO offers newsletters. Accessing the product may require email information from the User, which is used as contact information and reference.
When GNO holds surveys or online promos, we may require contact information (i.e. name, home address, or contact information) and demographic information (i.e. age or gender) from our Users. This is used to reach out to the Users following their participation in the survey or promo. Given the promo’s nature, DTI or other corresponding government agencies may ask the User to provide government-mandated identity numbers (i.e. driver’s license number).
Your PI will not be disclosed without your consent. You may ask GNO to stop collecting and using it. You also have the right to ask for a copy of the PI we hold about you, or to ask for it to be corrected or updated.
If required by law, your PI may be disclosed. This encompasses events such as corporate mergers or acquisitions, or investigations into technical problems or misuse.

Your PI shall be retained only for such period as necessary to serve the purpose for which it was collected, or as required under any contract or by applicable law. Thereafter, your PI shall be disposed of in a secure manner that would prevent further processing, unauthorized access, or disclosure to any other party.
