Posibleng dumating ang panahon na hindi na lang paggising ng mga inaantok na tao ang kape kung hindi pang-arangkada na rin ng mga sasakyan.
Ayon sa ulat ng Reuters, may isinasagawa nang pag-aaral upang makuha ang kemikal mula sa mga nagamit na pulbos ng kape upang gawing biodiesel.
"Our novel process is in situ transesterification, which actually couples two processes - extraction and reaction - into one single step. Generally in chemical engineering when we couple two operations in one single step we usually get a lower processing cost as well as investment costs," ayon kay Vesna Najdanovic-Visak, lecturer in chemical engineering sa Lancaster University.
Kapag nagawa ito, umaaari umanong ilagay ang petrolyo na nakuha mula sa gamit na kape na direkta sa tangke o kaya naman ay ihalo sa ibang uri ng petrolyo.
"We are not claiming that we will save the whole planet and that we would provide the fuel that would supply everything in this world. For sure not. But it's one of those puzzles that could contribute to the overall picture more than by one process solving the whole situation," paliwanag pa ni Najdanovic-Visak. -- FRJ, GMA News
