A 36-year-old man was found dead at an irrigation canal on Conel Road in General Santos City.
Police said the man was identified by his family.
The family said the man was a shoemaker who often set up his work area near the canal where he would also sleep sometimes.
He was believed to have fallen into the canal and drowned.
The man reportedly visited last his family on Saturday, July 5, 2025, when they brought him food. At that time, they also found out that he suffered from frequent epileptic seizures, which may have caused him to fall into the canal and drowned.
Initial investigation showed no signs of foul play as there was no wound or injury found on the body.
