Who are the favorite young singers of the Asia's Songbird?

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez is one of the most talented singers in the Philippine music industry.

Despite the victories she has earned both locally and internationally, she has always kept her feet on the ground and made sure she shared her talent, both through performing and mentoring.

Regine has worked with many young stars and watched their careers blossom. Having hosted a couple of talent searches in the past years, she has become very close with its champions, finalists, and contestants.

Among the pool of today’s singers, she shares some of her favorites.
“Si Jonalyn (Viray), si Rachelle Ann (Go), si Kyla. Magagaling sila lahat. ‘Yung La Diva, actually. ‘Yung tatlo kong girls, ang gagaling lahat nun,” she noted.

The talent that she gets to witness surprises her,  so she was not amazed when one of her favorite young singers made it big.

“Ang dami nating talented na singers. Ako, hindi ako surprised na pumupunta na naman tayo sa Miss Saigon. Nandoon si Rachelle Ann. Kabilang na naman tayo doon,” she said.

For her, one of the most rewarding things about mentoring and being a friend to the young singers is the gratefulness that they show.

“Nakaka-proud sila kasi they all love me. They look up to me. Hindi nila ko nakakalimutan so nakakataba ng puso and nakaka-proud na ang layo na ng mga narrating nila. Nakakatuwa na naging parte ako ng buhay nila so I feel very blessed,” she said.
