Five uniquely named hair products and what they actually do

By Michelle Caligan

Nowadays, taking care of our hair is just as important as taking care of our skin. This has led to the emergence of specialized hair products in the market which target specific hair concerns. These products usually come with interesting names that some people may not understand at first, but rest assured that they will all help in making your hair healthy.

We rounded up five of these hair care products that are popular in the market today, and what they actually do to your luscious locks:

Sunset spray

Dubbed as an "instant blow-dry in a bottle," BeachBorn's sunset spray is an anti-frizz and ultra-moisturizing hair detangler. It also protects the hair from the sun's heat while providing you with a sleek, blow-dried hairstyle. Just spray on damp towel-dried hair and air dry for best results.

Hair butter

If your hair is becoming dry and brittle, then lather it up with some hair butter. A blend of natural oils and different kinds of butter like shea and cocoa, this product seals in moisture in your hair to protect it from breakage. It works well for both dry and damp hair, and best used for hairstyles involving twists, braids, and buns.

Sea salt spray

Probably the most recognizable in this list, the sea salt spray pretty much mimics the effect of saltwater to the hair. It adds volume and texture to an otherwise lifeless hair, creating a sexy bedhead look or instant beach waves without using a curling iron.

Hair roll on

Proudly made in the Philippines, the HairNow roll on is part of Escents PH's line of naturally formulated and chemical-free products. Made of rosemary-infused virgin coconut oil, it comes in a handy bottle for easy application to your scalp. After rubbing, let it set to 30 minutes or leave overnight before rinsing. It aims to promote hair growth and lessen hair fall.

Tea rinse

If drinking tea is good for the body, then a tea rinse is good for your hair, too! While you can use any tea you have in your pantry, it's better to get one that's specifically made for hair rinsing. Each blend is made for a specific hair type, but generally provides deep cleansing, soothes scalp irritation, and improves hair color.

The next time you come across these products, don't be intimidated by the interesting names and give them a try.
