Monolid Makeup Tricks from Celebrity Makeup Artist Tor Torre

If you have monolid eyes but love makeup, then you understand the struggle of finding makeup tutorials that apply to your eye shape.

So in an attempt to help us all, here is a simple list of tips from celebrity makeup artist Tor Torre that could help our solo-lidded society.

1. Go for the smokey eye

“I think the best eye makeup style that you can do is just a smokey eye,” Torre suggests.

“When you shape your eye using the smokey eye method you can elongate your eye, you can make it rounder, you can even deepen it. It's a little bit tricky but if you master the smokey eye you'll look great.”

2. Go bold with eyeliner

“For the eyeliner you have to go over [what is normal],” he says. “You really have to extend it so that when you open your eye, people can see it.”

“What you have to do is to extend the eyeliner up to that fold and then that's where you either smoke it out or line it out. So, when you open your eyes that's when you start outlining it by dotting along the fold that you see and then when you close your eyes or you look down, you then fill it out until there and smoke it out.”

3 Don't forget falsies

“Wear falsies or false eyelashes to make your eyes pop!” he points out. “Girls in Japan nga they go to 7-Eleven wearing falsies just to buy iced coffee lang e.”

He also advises to be careful in using eyelash extensions. “Sometimes having eyelash extensions gets tricky because sometimes the material is heavy. So, if you see some girls sometimes look “sleepy” kasi it tends to drag down the eye.”

“So, it's better to go for false eyelashes at least it's not permanent. You can just remove it and there are a lot of styles you can experiment with.”
