With the Miss Supranational coronation night less than 24 hours away, Miss Supranational Philippines Alison Black is making sure that her Filipino heritage is on display for people to see.
In her latest post on Instagram, Alison posted a photo of her wearing another Filipiniana gown, an Erjohn dela Serna creation that brings together tribal patterns and the terno.
In the caption, she trumpeted how the country has “raised countless aspirational and inspirational women.”
This is the second time that Alison has showcased a modern interpretation of the classic Filipino terno. Last week, she posted five photos of herself wearing an orange modernized terno designed by Noel Estopito and expressed gratitude at the opportunity to display the Filipinos “creativity, strength, and palaban-ness” to the rest of the world.
Alison, along with the Miss World Philippines Organization, has also called on Filipinos to help push her into the Miss Supranational top 12 through the fan vote.
Yesterday, Alison asked for “one last favor” and asked Filipinos to vote for on the Miss Supranational app.
Alison had earlier called on Filipinos to send their “support, trust, kind words, and prayers,” along with an assurance from her that she is proud to represent the country on an international stage as well as her wish that her countrymen see that in her performance.
Beyond the fan vote, Alison has made some strides in the challenges leading up to the pageant. She was named one of the top three of the Miss Supranational talent competition and was also in the top 15 of the pageant's Supra Influencer challenge.
If Alison makes it past the top 12 in Miss Supranational, she would have outdone last year's representative, Dindi Pajares, who ended her Miss Supranational journey in the top 12. Chanique Rambe of Nambia won the title of Miss Supranational 2021.
