Ikinuwento ni Michelle Madrigal kung paano nabuo ang kasunduan nila ng ex-husband niyang si Troy Woolfolk sa custody ng anak nilang si Anika.

Ibinahagi ni Michelle ito sa kaniyang recent vlog sa YouTube na "My Co-Parenting Journey."

Pag-amin ni Michelle, humarap sila ni Troy sa isang mediation para maging maayos ang paguusap nila sa custody ni Anika.

"In all honesty nagkaroon kami ng mediation. At that time I was just very emotionally distraught. I was just, done. I was done with the divorce, it wasn't an easy divorce, the other person wasn't cooperative, I just wanted out of it."

Kuwento pa ni Michelle, nagdesisyon siya base sa ikabubuti ng kanilang anak.

"Kung sobrang selfish lang ako, it could have been a different story. But I had to think of Anika, I had to think of whatever is best for her. I had to decide on that."

Ayon sa dating aktres, nauwi sila sa 50/50 custody kay Anika.

"Even though I was full of emotions at that point during the mediation, I settled for 50/ 50 custody."

Inamin ni Michelle na sa pinagdaanan nilang ito ni Troy ay naniniwala siyang karapatan ng bata na makilala at makapiling ang kaniyang ama at ina.

"I truly believe that she deserves to get to know both parents. To have time, alone time, with both parents. Just putting your child's best interest so we decided that na mag-joint custody kami."

August 2021 nang aminin ni Michelle na naghiwalay na sila ni Troy pagkatapos ng dalawang taon nilang pagsasama. Noong April 2022, na-finalize naman ang kanilang divorce.
