Bianca Umali speaks about 'Ella Arcangel' at ToyCon

Bianca Umali, who will voice Ella Arcangel in the upcoming animated film of the same name, attended ToyCon 2026.

"Si Ella ay pangkaraniwang bata lamang and what makes her stand out among others is that si Ella ay isang superhero on a daily basis," the Kapuso Prime Gem said.

In Athena Imperial's report for "24 Oras Weekend" on Sunday, Bianca said she prepared for voice acting, as it is different from acting onscreen.

"I really did put myself through one whole workshop," Bianca said.

Bianca added that it is an honor to voice the Filipina hero.

"Siya 'yung superhero na inaakala natin and in-e-expect nating lahat na naka costume, malaking tao, malakas, hindi siya ganun," Bianca said.

"Ella Arcangel is a representation of all of us," she added.

"Ella Arcangel" will premiere this year.

The film is an adaptation of "Ella Arcangel: Awit ng Pangil at Kuko," a beloved Filipino horror-fantasy comic series created by Julius Villanueva.

The story follows a young witch who fights both humans and mythical monsters in the city to protect her community.

"Ella Arcangel" is directed by National Book Awardee Mervin Malonzo, the comic book creator of "Tabi Po." It is produced by Manny Angeles and Avid Liongoren, the creative duo behind "Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story." —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
