Drew Arellano on having four kids, 'Ok na, we're good'

Biyahe ni Drew host Drew Arellano revealed that he and his wife, "Chika Minute" host Iya Villania, did not plan on having a lot of kids.

During his interview on the Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel podcast, Drew said that had their second child been a girl, “that would've been it.”

“I think we were aiming for one muna and then the second one, kung naging girl si Leon, I think that would've been it, you know? Primo and Leona. Ok na,” he said.

He added, “Well, naging lalaki, so parang sabi [namin], 'Let's try another one.' Kung babae, ok na. So, we thought 'yun 'yun.”

In a recent post on Instagram, Iya said she was already settling with the idea of only having two kids after she realized the challenges of motherhood.

According to Drew, he and Iya were really praying for their third child to be a girl to the point of not trying to find out the gender until their child was born. However, he remembered Iya was saying that it would be another boy.

Drew related, “So anyway, it was during the pandemic pa rin 'to, this 2020. I couldn't go to the delivery room, so I was just waiting sa room namin and then, dinala na 'yung baby and like 'Color pink!' So iba, iba rin 'yung feeling ng having a girl lalo na two years in.”

He also mentioned about understanding what his friends meant whenever they said, “Iba talaga 'yung lambing ng girl towards guys, towards the dads.”

Drew agreed, "And then, yeah, two years in, I totally get it now, I totally get it now na parang, 'Papa!' parang ang hirap pagalitan."

When asked if there are any other plans for a fifth child, Drew answered “I think my wife is waiting for me to undergo vasectomy already. Ok na, we're good.”

It can be recalled that in early January, a few months after their fourth child, Astro, was born, he and Iya posted separate videos wherein they teased about having another baby.

Netizens and friends, meanwhile, commented that they should have more kids, pertaining to the quote they were dubbing, asking if they “need one more.”
