Fabio Ide's twins are now discharged from the hospital
The family of Brazilian-Japanese model-actor Fabio Ide and Ellen Fröjd are now breathing a sigh of relief after their twin daughters have been discharged from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of the Makati Medical Center.
Both Maya Nicole and Luna Alessandra were preemies or premature babies. According to my.clevelandclinic.org, a premature baby is a baby born too early, or about three weeks before the due date.
It added that a normal pregnancy period (fetal development) is about 40 weeks. Preterm birth occurs at 37 weeks or earlier. This premature or early birth can pose serious health risks to the mother and baby.
Back on August 13, Fabio already hinted that his partner Ellen had already given birth. But in a separate post the following month, he revealed that his twins came out at 30 weeks and would spend some time in the NICU.
Fabio then updated his followers on Instagram last September 17 that they were able to bring Maya home and on October 1, they got the clearance that Luna could be released as well.
The latter had to spend 50 days at the Makati Medical Center.
The former Destiny Rose actor poured his heart out in his social media post that they were able to reunite their children together. Fabio also expressed his immense gratitude for everyone who prayed for his family.
He shared, “A day to never be forgotten in our lives. Luna has been discharged from Nicu in Makati Med and she is now home together with her twin sister Maya. What a roller coaster of emotions it has been for the past 50 days but as they say what doesn't kill you make you stronger.”
Fabio continued, “Thank you everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts throughout these past few days and big thank you again to all the nurses, doctors and staff from Makati Med. You guys are indeed the best in the country when it comes to premature babies. Welcoming the Puyat nights with open hearts and a big smile on our faces.”
After going through a couple of difficult weeks, Fabio Ide also penned a letter dedicated to his loving partner Ellen today October 20, whom he considers as a “big blessing” in their lives.
“Ellen Today is not Valentine's Day. Today is another day I feel thankful for having a woman like you in my life,” he said.
“Thank you for taking care of us. We are so blessed to have you in our lives. Thank you for your love, care, support and every little effort you are doing for the twins and me is simply amazing. I love you super mama @ellenfrojd !!!”
Aside from his twins with Ellen, Fabio has a daughter named Danielle Mikayla) with ex Denisse Oca.
