The daughter of late OPM icon Francis Magalona and Pia Magalona talked about her scary medical emergency on Instagram when her family arrived in Boracay.

According to her, she was vomiting and then passed out at her hotel on the island. It was later confirmed that she was suffering from a rare congenital condition called Meckel's Diverticulum.

Based on Jim Bacarro's separate IG post, his wife underwent open surgery last December 23 and on Christmas Day, Saab got the chance to see her family.

She shared some highlights of their simple celebration on Instagram saying, “Christmas Day visit from my family. I didn't expect it so it was much appreciated. Love to my Bacarro family too for taking good care of our babies.”

On Christmas Eve, Jim recalled the scary moment at the hotel when he discovered Saab unconscious.

He recounted, “Finally saw our boys after Saab's surgery yesterday (December 23)!

“Seven days ago, I was in a situation I could never have imagined: carrying my best friend's unconscious body across a room. She was vomiting, losing blood, and I was screaming for help, urging her to wake up, to stay alive, as Pancho and Vito watched and screamed in fear.”

“It was the start of a roller coaster journey from moments of peace to sudden life-threatening updates. Saab, my father and I took a boat and a two-hour ambulance ride to Kalibo, while Saab continued to lose a significant amount of blood and battled pneumonia. Despite this, she kept smiling and reassuring us.”

Jim stated that due to his wife's condition, they needed to airlift here back in Manila. And since Saab continues to experience bleeding, she had to undergo a two-hour open surgery.

“Even after our arrival, the bleeding continued, so yesterday, our trusted surgeon, Dr. Jay Hippolito, performed a two-hour open surgery on Saab. She is now recovering and stable.”

In the same IG post, Jim extended his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped them out from the hotel staff, the medical team, and to their families as well.

“I'm immensely grateful to my papa for literally sailing the rough waters with me to save Saab's life. Also to my family and our helpers for taking care of Pancho and Vito in Boracay, and to my sister Nunki for being Vito's best friend as he recovers from the trauma.

“A heartfelt thanks to Discovery Shores for going above and beyond in helping us reach the hospital. Every second counted. To mom for coordinating with the Red Cross for much-needed blood. To Dr. Torres, Dr. Buenaflor, and Dr. Perez of APMC--thank you for saving Saab's life.

“Dr. Chad Hizon, thank you for keeping us sane and helping coordinate everything. Dr. Jay Hipolito, this is the second time you've saved Saab's life. And to God, thank you for showing me that at the end of the day, light will always outshine the darkness.

“It's a strange Christmas indeed--yet may be our most special one. We're together, alive and continue to feel God's presence through other people. Love and a Merry Christmas to you all!”

It was back in January 2015 when Saab and Jim tied the knot in Baguio City. They have been blessed with two boys: Pancho and Vito.
