Kris Bernal on motherhood: 'Being a mama is my favorite era'

Kris Bernal recently celebrated the sixth month of their daughter, Hailee Lucca, and the Sparkle star also marked her motherhood journey, so far.

In a lengthy Instagram post, the actress shared how being a mother is her "favorite era" despite the challenges it comes with.

"I never knew how much love my heart can hold until you made me a mama," Kris said.

Kris also mused on how she is grateful despite being overwhelmed.

"My to-do list is always full but so is my heart. I'm always on the verge of a meltdown but I'd be lost without her. My days feel long but they also go by in the blink of an eye. I sometimes feel suffocated by motherhood but I also found my purpose," she said.

Kris added how she also feels "so many emotions in one day."

"It's overstimulating, it's hard, and it's some of the most challenging, most rewarding days of my life. From the sleepless nights to the endless worries, I carry the weight of my little one's world on my shoulder," she said.

Kris continued, "As a mother, I'm not perfect, I make mistakes, I forget things, I lose my cool. And, some days I go a little crazy but it's okay because in the end, no one could ever love my child the way I do."

Kris said she also realized she was replaceable in every other role in life except for being a mother.

"And, at the end of every day, no matter how exhausted, burnt out, overwhelmed, and behind I am with the world, I just do it. Because I'm a mother. I wouldn't want it any other way," she concluded.

Kris and Perry Choi welcomed Hailee Lucca in August 2023. The couple tied the knot in September 2021.
