Here's a closer look at the most popular sporting family in the country, the Ravenas.
The Ravena family etched their names in the world of sports in the Philippines. PBA legend and former star cager of the University of the East Bong Ravena married volleyball standout from the University of Santo Tomas Mozzy Ravena. The two were blessed with three execeptional kids, Kiefer, Thirdy and Dani.
A cute throwback photo of the Ravena siblings
Basketball prodigy Kiefer Ravena was the first among the Ravena siblings to make his own mark in the local sporting scene. In his first year in Ateneo de Manila University, the 6'0 cager bagged the Rookie of the Year award in Season 74 (2011).
He helped his school to two UAAP senior men's basketball title in Season 74 (2011) and Season 75 (2012). Kiefer also made a splash in his last two seasons in Ateneo, when he took home the MVP award.
After his illustrious college career, Kiefer decided to bring his talent to the PBA. In 2017, he was the No. 2 pick in the rookie draft and became part of the NLEX Road Warriors.
Kiefer also suited for the national team, Gilas Pilipinas. Kiefer holds the distinction of winning four gold medals in the SEA Games after helping the country win its 12th straight basketball championship.
The next Ravena to shine is Kiefer's younger brother Thirdy. The latter, just like 'Manong' Kiefer, decided to bring his talent to Ateneo.
Standing at least 6'2, the Ateneo de Manila University forward is simply a court monster with his athleticism. Thirdy is a certified eye candy as well with his demigod physique.
Thirdy made huge contribution for the Katipunan-based school to claim three consecutive senior men's basketball title from Season 80 (2017) to Season 82 (2019). He also bagged the Finals MVP trophy in all three championships.
The newest Ravena blazing the court, the volleyball court, is the youngest in the brood of three. She is none other than Dani Ravena.
Dani, a libero, played a crucial role for Ateneo to defeat the University of Santo Tomas and clinched it's 3rd crown in the UAAP senior women's volleyball competition.
To cap off his collegiate career, Thirdy steered Ateneo to its third consecutive championship in UAAP Season 82. Thirdy was awarded as Finals MVP after averaging 24.5 points per game.
