This year, Jon Lucas is spending his Thanksgiving like no other as he finds reasons to celebrate despite the pain of losing his parents.

The actor took to Facebook to share a heartfelt and lengthy post reflecting on life's challenges. He also posted a selfie together with his mother and father's tomb.

"Next year, 30 na ako, ang kapatid ko naman ay 28. Kung loloobin ay magiging mahaba pa ang aming paglalakbay dito sa mundo bilang mga ulila na sa magulang," he began.

Jon acknowledged the struggles he would encounter more in the future as an orphan.

He also opened up that he did not expect to lose both of his parents last year, and it felt like time had passed by very fast.

Jon said, "Maraming hirap, kalungkutan, at ibat-ibang karamdaman na talagang hahanapin mo ang presensya ng isang magulang."

However, he is still grateful to the Lord as He gave him a lot of blessings.

"Kaya alam niyo kahit wala na sila, masasabi ko pa rin araw at gabi na kami ay tunay na mapalad kasi pumikit ang aming mga magulang na nasa piling kami ng aming kahalalan," he added.

Despite facing the heartbreaking loss of both parents, he still finds solace in the fact that he is not truly alone.

The actor ended his lengthy post by sharing a powerful message of strength and support.

He told the people facing the same struggles, "Kakayanin mo!"

Then, he greeted everyone with a "Happy Year-End Thanksgiving, mga kapatid ko!"
