Some people assume that celebrity kids like Atasha and Andres Muhlach are living a luxurious life because they are children of a famous celebrity couple. However, as their parents, showbiz power couple Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales made sure that they would live a normal life.

This was what Atasha shared during her first press conference after signing a talent management contract with Viva Artist Agency on Tuesday, July 3.

“We had a very normal childhood,” the 22-year-old Atasha said.

“They made sure that we experience a normal life--going to school, playing sports. Even my friends or the people around me, they never treated me as such. Because growing up, we grew up in the province in Batangas. So, we really got to experience all these things. Me and my brother would play with toys like jackstones, we get to play with colored chicks.”

The young lady was referring to their house in Mataas na Kahoy in Batangas, which her dad had built in the early 2000s.

Atasha also shared some fond memories with her brother in Batangas.

“Me and my brother would be given an allowance on the weekends, of course. We would go out at the sari-sari store. We would get plastic balloons and we would always have competitions who could make the biggest plastic balloon. We'd do jackstones.

“And we'd go find Fudgee Bars all the time. We actually have this hack where you put the Fudgee bar in the microwave with ice cream. It's really yummy. And we would always get pan de coco in bakeries. Sometimes if we get lucky there would be crinkles and pan de regla.”

The Viva artist also mentioned how their parents kept them away from gadgets, which is why she's giving an importance to her privacy as she starts her showbiz career.

“Growing up, we didn't have any cellphones or any technology until 16, so we're able to be present in life. Because of that I also really realized that some things in my life… I'm not also comfortable sharing what's behind the scenes. All I really want to do is just express my creativity. I just really want to showcase my talent.”

Because of how their parents raised her and Andres, Atasha proved that assumptions about celebrity kids are not always true.

“We never really felt any different until recently, when we got older. We started these things, like they would take us in the premiere night. It's was like, 'Whoa!' this was what it's like,” she said.

Now that she's part of showbiz industry, Atasha said she's inspired to follow in the footsteps of her parents. “I'm actually encouraged to be somewhat be like them and to really take their talents and see how far I can go in this industry.”
