This year marked a special beginning for some celebrity couples as they welcomed their babies.
Reports say that the number of births in the Philippines have dropped significantly in the past years.
Based on the preliminary data from the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS), the total fertility rate of Filipino women aged 15 to 49 years declined from 2.7 children per woman in 2017 to 1.9 children per woman in 2022.
But there are showbiz couples who were not part of this statistics. Instead, they were filled with happiness because of the life-changing moment of giving birth to their babies.
One of the most anticipated births in show business was the arrival of the daughter of Iza Calzado.
Iza Calzado, who got pregnant at age 40 considers this experience as a miracle.
The 'Shake, Rattle & Roll' actress waited a few years before she and husband Ben Wintle welcomed Deia Amihan in January 2023. The couple got married in Palawan in December 2018.
Victor Basa and Fabio Ide are also a source of inspiration for a lot of parents whose children were born prematurely.
'Destiny Rose' actor Fabio documented on his social media pages the weeks that his twins Maya Nicole and Luna Alessandra had to spend at the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Meanwhile, Victor talked about the challenges of taking care of a preemie like his daughter Alessandra.
“A dream is a wish our hearts made when hoping and praying for our little Alessandra Emmanuele who was born a little sooner than expected but is healthy and lively much to our delight.
“As first-time parents I can imagine it can be more jarring to welcome a baby into the world especially at our tender age of... but am so thankful for the best doctors recommended that kept mommy and baby safe. So thankful to [our] family for being there and praying with us through our fears during these first few days of life and bringing food all the way to the hospital.”
