Alex Gonzaga suffers third miscarriage

Actress and content creator Alex Gonzaga and her husband, Mikee Morada, face another heartbreaking chapter in their journey to parenthood.
In an interview on Toni Talks, Mikee bravely shared their lowest moment as a married couple last year.
"Hindi talaga namin akalain, wala talaga kaming plano, ang plano naming posibleng maka-prepare muna ng katawan ng IVF or kung anuman, pero naturally pa rin gusto naming subukan," Mikee said when they discovered Alex was pregnant.
The excited couple quickly shared the news with her sister Toni Gonzaga.
Alex and Mikee decided to visit their ob-gyn and had a successful ultrasound until the second week. However, in the third week, the ultrasound discovered that the baby had no heartbeat.
In an unexpected circumstance, their ob-gyn said to visit the hospital, so they decided to have a second opinion on their pregnancy.
Mikee shared that they saw a baby and heard its heartbeat for the first time.
"Nakakita kami ng embryo tsaka nung heartbeat. Hindi ko sinasabi kay Catherine pero kasi nung andun kami sa ultrasound kasi, nakakuha ako ng picture. Ito lang yung kaisa-isang picture na tumitibok yung puso niya, so ni-loop ko para play lang siya ng play," he shared.
He said he would look at it every morning as he treasured that moment.
Unfortunately, they found out that the heartbeat was only 65, but they still tried everything to save the baby.
They waited until December 28, 2024, to confirm the baby's safety. Mikee decided to stop researching miracle stories, instead, he surrendered everything to the Lord.
“Dumating yung December 28, nakita namin yung embryo pero wala na siyang heartbeat," he said.
Alex and Mikee accepted the result. However, Mikee revealed that Alex cried so hard that night when they got home from the hospital.
He shared, "Hindi ko makakalimutan, sabi ng doctor kailangan niya na uminom para mag-bleed siya. Noong umuwi kami, kakabili lang nung gamot. Tinatanog niya sa akin kung may chance pa ba bago inumin.”
Despite the experience, Mikee still saw the silver lining in everything. He said that after everything they had gone through with their pregnancy, their relationship became stronger and deeper.
Mikee reassured Alex, "Kahit anumang mangyari, biyayaan man tayo o hindi, tayong dalawa magkasama, okay lang."
He said he is happy with Alex in their five years of marriage. He thanked Alex for trying and taking care of herself at the end of the interview.
Alex and Mikee started dating in 2016. The couple tied the knot last November 2020.
