Aside from her enviable sense of style, Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista is known for her beauty, elegance, and sense of confidence.

But the Kapuso actress credits it all to the two women who made an impact on her life--her mom and late senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago.

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Heart Evangelista shares the one tip that the two women have imparted on the Kapuso beauty.

She says, “I grew up with my mom telling me that I should have self-worth and to love myself.

“And it's true! You really have to love yourself and really treasure yourself as a woman.

“Because whatever you face in life, ups and downs, at the end of the day, you have to know who you are and what you're worth.”

The same can be said with the late senator who continued to remind Heart of her own self-worth whenever she experienced a hurtful breakup.

“Senator Miriam was like a queen because she had bodyguards surrounding her. And I never saw that with anyone else but her,” she recalls.

“So, she would pick me up at the middle of the night and I would sleep at her house.

“We would talk about our relationship gone wrong, why should I do this, and how should I be.

“At the end of our talk, she would remind me that I should love and treasure myself.”

At one point she even re-enacted the late senator's mannerisms.

“Gaganyan siya, 'My god! You're so beautiful!'

“So, I think growing up and being surrounded by these strong women, eventually, that's what I feel like I became.

“I feel like I'm stronger, and I'm wiser.”
