Kapuso actress and StarStruck judge Heart Evangelista was all smiles yesterday (June 6), when she revealed exclusively to GMANetwork.com that her dad, Reynaldo Ongpauco, is doing great after undergoing radiation therapy.

“Yeah, he's so much better,” she said.

“He's in the States now. Nagbabakasyon na siya at parang walang nangyari.

“So the doctors told him that his condition is very good and buti na lang okay na siya.”

The older you get, the simpler your wishes become. You realize that material things aren't all that, and end up wishing for just this -- a happy and healthy family. ⁣ ⁣ For the past few months, my father has been going through radiation therapy. And just this week, he "graduated" and had his last session. He's now in such a better place and I couldn't be more grateful. 😊 I would like to wish special thanks to Dr. @magic_mike723 and Dr. Panlilio, who have truly been blessings to our family. Heart Evangelista's dad Reynaldo Ongpauco finishes radiation therapy

It can be recalled that on May 27, Heart announced on Instagram that her father has been going through the treatment for the past months.

"For the past few months, my father has been going through radiation therapy.

"And just this week, he 'graduated' and had his last session. He's now in such a better place and I couldn't be more grateful," Heart wrote.

That being said, Heart opened up about the things she learned from her dad, to whom she is very close.

“He really taught me to be a better person and to always make time for family.

“Lagi niya kasi sinasabi, 'Now you see it, now you don't'

“So we should really treasure each other because no amount of wealth or money can compete with family"

And if there's one trait she'd like to emulate from her dad, what would it be?

Heart answered, “My dad is very down to earth and he's actually a fashionista.

“He's just super down to earth and I think that's really important to have [as a trait].

“So to always be nice.”
